Barack Obama is officially our 44th president and with that officious title comes a mammoth responsibility. But we all know that. What I wanted to know is how is President Obama going to tackle the problem of crime and law enforcement staffing shortage in metropolitan cities. This is especially important if you plan on studying or working within the criminal justice field. So, I scoured the Internet to find out facts about the Urban Policy on Crime and Law Enforcement, as presented by the White House.

Gun Violence
Address Gun Violence in Cities: Obama and Biden would repeal the Tiahrt Amendment, which restricts the ability of local law enforcement to access important gun trace information, and give police officers across the nation the tools they need to solve gun crimes and fight the illegal arms trade. Obama and Biden also favor commonsense measures that respect the Second Amendment rights of gun owners, while keeping guns away from children and from criminals. They support closing the gun show loophole and making guns in this country childproof. They also support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent.
Youth Violence
End the Dangerous Cycle of Youth Violence: Obama and Biden support innovative local programs, like the CeaseFire program in Chicago, which implement a community-based strategy to prevent youth violence and have been proven effective.
Recidivism
Reduce Crime Recidivism by Providing Ex-Offender Supports: America is facing an incarceration and post-incarceration crisis in urban communities. Obama and Biden will create a prison-to-work incentive program, modeled on the successful Welfare-to-Work Partnership, and work to reform correctional systems to break down barriers for ex-offenders to find employment.
Law Enforcement Support
Support Local Law Enforcement: President Obama and Vice President Biden are committed to fully funding the COPS program to put 50,000 police officers on the street and help address police brutality and accountability issues in local communities. Obama and Biden also support efforts to encourage young people to enter the law enforcement profession, so that our local police departments are not understaffed because of a dearth of qualified applicants.

the hate need to be taken out of the justice system, every officer should have a video of every encounter he have with the public,if not it should not creditable in any court in the nation. bench trial should not be forced ,no one should be treaten with harder punisment if he want to fight the case, people are being force to say that the are guilty because of being force to do so with a harder punishment.why is the bible being use in the court room when non of what in it is being followed? change the way the prison are ran, men should not have use the restroom out in the open this can be fixed, respect! respect !respect! two wrong don’t make a right on any level and yes this also the justice system, a lot of thing that are being done in the prison system , come back in the public which add to the problem that a lot of community already have. this can be change, why has it not been changed?
