Who is Brian Jenkins? What is he mainly known for in the area of terrorism? Explain his theory.
Brian Jenkins is a world renowned expert on terrorism. He has written many publications and consulted multitudinous government agencies and private enterprises on terrorism. He’s a one of the few experts who predicted that terrorism would evolve (rather than decline) as the years go on.
Jenkins also presented that terrorists’ main agenda would be to retain public’s attention and coerce international governments to react to terrorist threats. He has also defined terrorism and his rendition is profoundly accepted by governments, corporations, and academicians (Goldstein, 2007; White, 2006). Brian Jenkins’ definition of terrorism as translated by Dr. David Goldstein (2007): “The use or threatened use of force designed to bring about political change.”
