It is regionally accredited which is a huge start, but it's not a well respected university and some may say it might not be up to par to the University of Illinois System of schools; which I would have to agree with. I am not too familiar with schools near Shaumburg, IL but I do know UIC is considered one of the best in the country for criminal justice. It's near, but I don't know if it's that near to you.
