I attended the masters program in Grambling State University in 1997-2000. I can tell you that the masters program in Grambling is a joke. A complete disgrace for students who if attended were never challenged. A professor missed three weeks of the semester and passed everyone despite not showing up. This may have been called the masters program in Grambling, but there was nothing mastery about it. Any person with an average brain could have passed the program with all A’s. It was that easy. It was easier than the undergraduate program which wasn’t exactly challenging either. It does not prepare the student with the masters degree for the outside world. It is a privilege to be able to say that you have earned your masters. You are expected to conduct yourself with expertise in your area of study. You are also expected to be a master, not only in your area of study, but to be able to conduct highly sophisticated levels of work, teaching, research etc, etc. However, Grambling has failed the student, not in the class but in society. Once he is in the workforce, he is not prepared to produce of what is expected of him. Grambling’s class was not challenging at all. It did not prepare the student for the mainstream. It was so easy and so sad. I just want to inform those who are planning to attend Grambling’s masters program, that if you want a quality education in the graduate level, you should refrain from attending Grambling State University. Your work load is limited, the exams are not difficult, and you don’t really have to read many of the chapters required. It is that easy. I got all A’s and really didn’t try hard at all. I am an average student who at that time, was a horrible student who suffered immensely due to a learning disability which I knew nothing about back then. I knew I had a focus problem, but I did not know that the learning disability was the cause of my extreme difficulties of learing new materials. I graduated with q 3.75 or 3.80 and and truly believe I did not deserve it. Now, I am attending an MBA program in New York’s Devry college, and find the coarse very hard, but I am gaining from this hard work, intensive reading and using my mind.
