You should be able to apply with your GED. Getting accepted is up to the school itself.
If you want to do forensic science, UT or UTSA is a better school and you should be getting a science degree not CJ

I’m not that familiar with the program at Texas State. I do know it’s one of the best public schools in the nation.
Sam Houston State has a PHD in Criminal Justice. That is where you should apply.
