I am really looking forward to visit this college. It sounds like a great school for criminal justice.
I know i have 3 years to find a great college but this one sounds really great. Im looking forward to seeing what college i pick.
this college looks great!!!! I can’t wait!!!
Yes, CUNY’s John Jay College of Criminal Justice certainly ROCKS!
Hey Radek, does this college offer this degree online if not, in your opinion is the top online school for those criminal justice because I’m joining the military and have to do my school online. This would be very helpful, thank you.
I’m not too sure. I know that John Jay offers some online courses and maybe a few degree programs, but I don’t remember CJ to be one of them. I would recommend that you check out my Best Criminal Justice Schools in US article to get more info. Half of the schools listed have online programs.
It’s the best of the best for criminal justice – look at the faculty.
I just looked at rate my professor.com and it had one of the top ratings of professor I have ever seen.
Hi Radek,
I just got accepted into the Masters of Arts in Criminal Justice program at CUNY John Jay College and was wondering if you knew how accredited this program is?? I am Canadian (from British Columbia) and applied to this school b/c of its location and program, however I’m not too sure how accredited this program is in comparison to the Masters in Criminology at Simon Fraser University (which is highly accredited in Canada). I don’t want to attend this school if it will not benefit me in the long run and if my MA will not be recognized (or as reputable) in comparison to a Criminology MA from a Canadian graduate program. Thanks for any advice you can offer
CUNY John Jay College is one of the best schools in the filed of Criminal Justice here in the US. The college is properly accredited, holding regional accreditation; the best you can get. You should check out usnews.com for other ranking particulars and the school’s website for details on programmatic accreditation, which is not required in fields like criminal justice or criminology.
HI Radek,
I’ve been wondering. What are the requirements in entering this college? Knowing that I’m from Indonesia & is currently going to an international school.
CUNY John Jay College of Criminal Justice has their requirements posted on their website. They may differ from year to year, hence they aren’t posted here.
I go to this school, and there are SO MANY good classes. Not only that but the criminal justice major B.S.(the one I’m in!) actually makes you take classes from other majors (law, police science, corrections, etc.). My professors aren’t at all boring. I can’t wait to hit senior year; the classes seem to just be TOTALLY engaging. Check out their site: http://www.jjay.cuny.edu/academics/630.php
This school looks great & it seems that everyone has something good to say about it .
Rosa, John Jay College is one of the best.
Omg I can’t wait to visit this college.
I graduated from John Jay last year. Keep in mind that this is a public city college, many of the professors are pretty easy on their students. I found that there were only a FEW professors that challenge you and push you, and those professors also give great advice on career moves. I had one professor tell the class that 85% of the students in the school were barely at the high school writing level. Another professor said that John Jay has a great reputation overseas as one of the top criminal justice schools in the world; however, when professors visit, they’re shocked at the way the students present themselves and the way they dressed.
If you do decide to attend, it’s CRUCIAL that you do an internship. It’s not a requirement, but John Jay does offer great internships in various offices and agencies including the Mayor’s office, federal agencies, etc. John Jay also has an exchange professor program with the Scotland yard… take a class with an exchange professor.. you learn a lot.
