Where would you rank Ferris State state wise and nation wise? My counselor considered it a good school for Criminal Justice and i’m hoping to go there and then transfer to Michigan State. And a general question relating to studying in Criminal Justice would be if you are able to graduate in four years but you feel like five would be considerably better to gain more knowledge by taking more classes would you stay for another year? Would it help considerably in your career or would you learn most skills during your career paths?

Ferris State seems familiar, but not enough to pin point it as one of the best in Michigan. I may be wrong.

I feel four years will be more than enough. And, although you are welcome to complete more courses, it wouldn’t help much with most criminal justice careers. Maybe specialized courses in Forensic Science and/or certifications may shine a more favorable light on your application in addition to your CJ degree. I would see what requirements the employers you want to work for have in relation to the position you’re seeking. Yes, I feel you’ll learn most skills during the course of your career.
